PhD candidate in digital epistemology at Eötvös Lóránd University, in the interdisciplinary social science doctorate school researching trust as the mechanism through which humans extend their cognition into tools, networks, and AI agents. Daniel is also Head of Product at Nym Technologies, building privacy infrastructure for the open internet. He spent the last two years applying PhD research to AI-native knowledge systems built on local-first, open-source principles. He thinks the decentralized web's deepest promise is not censorship resistance but cognitive self-determination.

Most of the tools that genuinely carry our thinking today, that constitute in the philosopher's sense an extension of the self or mind, are rented infrastructure we do not control. This workshop maps our own cognitive root systems and asks what local-first, open-source architectures make possible when sovereignty, not just privacy, is the design goal.
