All Models Are Wrong Podcast Interview
2026-07-10 , Linden Theater

As a young computer scientist at MIT, Brewster Kahle dreamed of creating the Universal Library, a Library of Alexandria for the digital age. More than 40 years later, the nonprofit that he founded, the Internet Archive, has become a foundational part of the internet, infrastructure for some of humanity's greatest assets. In this wide-ranging conversation, Kahle speaks candidly with Joshua Davila about what it takes to hold fast to a vision for the Internet, in a live recording of the new All Models are Wrong Podcast.

All Models Are Wrong is a podcast exploring the frontier technologies — digital and social — that are reshaping the world in real time. The name comes from George Box's dictum: "All models are wrong, but some are useful." That tension is the show's engine. Every episode holds two things at once: that no framework, technology, or ideology fully captures reality, and that some are still worth taking seriously.

The guests and conversations span AI, cryptography, political economy, decentralised systems, and the social structures forming around them — the places where the map and the territory are actively being renegotiated. The goal is not to find the right model, but to find the useful ones.

Joshua Dávila is the writer and podcaster behind Blockchain Socialist and the author of Blockchain Radicals: How Capitalism Ruined Crypto and How to Fix It, published by Repeater Books in 2023. He is a co-founder of Bread Cooperative, where he builds crypto applications from a post-capitalist point of view.
