DWeb Camp 2026

Roadmapping resilient communication
2026-07-11 , Resilience Base

We have an unprecedented ability to build the things we can imagine. We'll spend this working on breaking down a roadmap for resilient communication - what are all the component technologies we need to finish and what systems don't yet exist that can allow us to have scalable communications without metadata leakage or disruption?

We'll use the time to identify the pieces that need to come together to reach the communication systems we're working on, and combine the roadmaps in our heads to identify common problems and more clearly define the shapes of that solutions need to take to answer the problems we are working to solve.

The focus of this session is narrowly on 'resilient communications' - covering both messaging and network overlays, but staying away from deep engagement with the content or semantics of the traffic being sent.

I help build a more resilient web. I've worked on projects ranging from internet-wide measurement to privacy-protecting messaging systems. My current work is focused on the evolution of our communication systems.

I've been a ski instructor, bicycled across the himalayas, speak some chinese, and enjoy playing with fire. I taught computer science in pyongyang.
