It has become almost reasonable to give up on humanity. And those of us who still want to believe are often called idealists, as if that were an insult.

This is a reading and open conversation from EVERYONE: A Case for Belief, Why the Human Team Can Still Win. We get honest about the weight, we feel it, and we make the case: not for optimism, but for belief as the most underused lever we have.

The point is not to believe because the evidence says we will win. The evidence is not in yet. It is to believe so that we create the possibility, because belief is what generates the agency to act toward it. We help each other believe, not as a passing feeling but as a practice, the way a team lifts itself at halftime.

The way we do that together is itself an experiment. Can we find the few principles universal enough to hold for everyone, the reasons to believe the human team can still win, and express them in all the languages and forms it takes to reach every kind of person, no one left out? The book is the first draft of that shared case. An immersive film, made in the open, is its felt version. Both are unfinished on purpose, open for you to argue with, add to, and help create.

This is why it is launching here, at DWeb, on purpose. A book about how interconnected we already are, and how we can still win together, belongs where the infrastructure of our interconnected future is being envisioned and built. This work needs that infrastructure, and the people who make it. Lend a platform, a technology, a skill. Or just come, feel it, say count me in, and pass it on. You do not have to be certain. You do not have to be optimistic. You just have to be unwilling to guarantee it is impossible.
