The Revolution Will Be Archived: Decentralized Preservation for Accountability and Media Sovereignty
2026-07-10 , Solidarity Station

We will give a brief background of our work and guiding methodology, share highlights from our recent white paper “Privacy-First Archiving: Implementing Secure, Decentralized Storage to Protect Mobile Media” mapping the development of our novel p2p DWeb backend, and give an overview of how our flagship mobile archiving app Save leverages decentralization to help safeguard people and their evidence from censorship, surveillance, and data loss by enabling them to securely archive, verify, encrypt their media and send it to Nextcloud, the Internet Archive, and our DWeb backend.

We will also share how our human rights-centered research and development methodology helps to ensure the free open source tools and resources we create with and for front-line communities are responsive enough to meet their evolving needs to provide meaningful resiliency in their given contexts.
